A small note about taxes
Taxes are inevitable but in this particular case there probably aren't any. In Canada we have both Federal and Provincial taxes. On work that I do for customers outside of Canada neither apply — so no tax. You may be subject to tax assessed by the government where you reside.
If you are a resident of Canada then GST applies. You may also be subject to tax assessed by your province of residence. I am based in British Columbia so I will not be charging those taxes, if any. If you reside in British Columbia then PST applies but graphic design work is exempt as long as it's not accompanied with printed material not including proof copies — so no tax.
So to recap, the only tax I will charge is GST and then only if you are a resident of Canada. It will be up to you to disclose the sale to your government of residence for tax purposes.
